Metallaverse

Metalagram | MetalaMirror | Metalamix

The Medium is the Message

Discover the novel artistry created by Schinkel Fine Art blending hands-on traditional and developed techniques with modern technology. The Metallaverse is comprised of a trinity of unified works all portmanteaus and known as Metalagram, MetalMirror and Metalamix. This family of work is distinctive while still being interconnected. All three types of original works are categorized according to one-of-a-kind yet related creative processes delivering the message of collaboration, connection and community.

Meeting the Schinkel Fine Art team has been one of the highlights of my year as an interior decorator. As standalone artworks, I love that their pieces look different throughout the day because of their metallic quality. In the context of a room, their pieces are luminous enough to reflect light and highlight any room design in both modern and traditional settings. I highly recommend choosing their artwork as an accent. Linda and Ted have been an outstanding mother-and-son team to work with!

Schinkel Fine Art

Schinkel Fine Art is an art+architecture centered cultural space exhibiting the artwork of mother-and-son artists Linda K Schinkel (Rodney) and Theodore M Schinkel. The internationally acclaimed artists present a gallery experience of indoor and outdoor visual artwork in the oldest brick dwelling in Detroit, formerly known as the Moross House. Since 2010 the artists have cultivated a collaborative practice that blends hands-on metalwork, mirror-making, drawing, photography, painting, printing, and digital technology created in Detroit.

Schinkel Fine Art is located in the former Moross House, built circa 1840 by Christopher Moross. A Detroit Secret Garden oasis featuring ivy covered brick walls and the oldest wisteria vines in the Midwest backyard awaits your visit. This historic indoors and outdoors space is a renewed vessel for art engagement in an architecturally significant property, also serving as an event venue.

Additionally, Conceptions Connect, a 501(c)(3) charity founded by Linda and Teddy Schinkel to support educational and community enrichment, operates from Schinkel Fine Art at the Moross House.
